St. Agia
My lawyer made me change the title of this post
St. Agia (also spelled or known as Aia, Aye, Aya, or Austregildis) was a married woman until her husband decided to become a monk (he also became a saint, so we know that he was a good dude). When he left, Agia she entered religious life, also. She is the patroness of lawsuits due to a legend about her. She is said to have settled a lawsuit between two parties by speaking from beyond the grave.
Like any good woman, Agia had a plan and a backup plan (and probably a backup to her backup plan). Life is crazy and weird things happen all the time! Better to be prepared. While there is absolutely no reason to believe that Agia’s spouse was rotten, many women (and men) do find themselves in similar positions due to rotten spouses. Agia shows us how to plan ahead and the importance of contingency plans, and that fruit can come out of hard times.
St. Agia, pray for us!
